Why Do Students Procrastinate?

Sometimes procrastination is caused by the procrastinator blaming their environment. This relates to me because I procrastinate because I can never find the perfect time or place to do my work. I am constantly getting the materials ready or trying to make my environment just right. Then when I don't understand a problem or question or something doesn't go according to plan I blame the environment around me and try to fix it. Although I always get it done sometimes I just need to start working rather than fix the things around me that make no difference to my work.

A good way to fix my procrastination would be to have a place that is already set up everyday. This place could be my desk in my room. If I clean it about 10 minutes a day then by the time November break is over it will all be set up for success. This would help me to not scramble every night for a place to do homework. And even when I am using the desk I will make sure to keep things neat while I work. Also I will keep a better planner because that helps me to see and make a timeline for when and how I can complete projects and homework successfully without procrastination.
